Dialectic Torino
Like an architectural style, urban development evolves over time according to the cultural production and collective ideas of its own time. This project questions how todays new urban form should be composed in the fringe-belt of Turin.
This project evokes the urban characteristics of the traditional city within a newly designed natural surrounding, forming a new paradigm between city and nature. The existing city is not neglected. The new urban ensemble is aligned with the agricultural and historical traces of the city and the new buildings are based on the original 19th century dwelling typology of the fringe-belt area. Thereby, the project located at the beginning of the 'Spina Centrale' functions as the new entrance of the city of Turin.
